City of Villa Rica

City of Villa Rica

The City of Villa Rica traces its history back to 1826 when wagons arrived in the area from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware and discovered gold. From this boom town beginning the city's current day name was derived which translates "City of Gold." In 1882, the city's center changed to its current day location with the arrival of the railroad and thus the city became a railroad town with the rails right through the center of town.
